January 13, 2017 the Netherlands Institute of International Relations Clingendael and KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation are co-hosting a policy-maker roundtable ‘Health across borders’. The roundtable brings together policy-makers and experts from the field, science and business to explore opportunities for Dutch expertise to reinforce the Government’s global health agenda. It also seeks to stimulate the inter-ministerial approach to global health championed by Minister of Health Edith Schippers and Minister of Trade & Development Lilianne Ploumen.
An initiative of KNCV and the Amsterdam Institute for Global Health and Development, AIGHD, the meeting was developed in collaboration with the Netherlands Platform for Global health Policy and Health System Research, the Topsector Life Sciences & Health and Aidsfonds.
In the discussion we seek the connections between health policy, practical application, economic diplomacy, research and innovation. We aim to inspire action, engagement and enhance cross-pollination between all stakeholder groups.
The topic will be approached from three perspectives:
- ‘Systems and International Health Regulations: prepared for times of AMR (Antimicrobial resistance) ?’,
- ‘Economic diplomacy and international cooperation on health: new opportunities’ and
- ‘Science and innovation for global health: From fundamental science to health app’.
