At the annual General Assembly meeting on 10 May 2017, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation said goodbye to Dirk Dotinga, who served the organization over five years of service on the Board of Trustees. During this time he was also vice-chair of the Board of Trustees and chair of the Audit Committee.
Executive Director Kitty van Weezenbeek and Deputy Director Lucian Roeters state that his strong commitment and financial expertise will be sorely missed. Lucian Roeters, who is as Finance Director also member of the Audit Committee, says that she is grateful for the way Dirk Dotinga filled out his role in this Committee: “His support and expertise have made a significant contribution. As no one else he was able to point out possible financial risks.”
Dirk Dotinga states that he is happy to see how the organization both expanded and developed in a professional way over the last couple of years. He is convinced that he is leaving behind a Board of Trustees that is able to support and supervise an organization that is currently in the middle of the implementation phase of the five year Challenge TB project (2015-2019), with a budget of 525 million dollar that is financed by USAID.
In addition to his position on the Board of Trustees of KNCV, Mr. Dotinga simultaneously contributed to the civil society as the Chair of Alzheimer Netherlands (region Haaglanden) and as Board member of the Homeless Emergency Foundation The Hague. His professional financial experience includes more than 20 years of service as financial expert with Shell International.
