Nominations are now open for the 2018 “KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation Award for Eminence in Tuberculosis Control”!
Since the creation of the award in 2003, KNCV issues a call for nominations every 5 years to honor a person or group of persons, that provide or have provided a long-term and significant contribution to the fight against tuberculosis in the world.
The winner(s) will receive a Dr. Karel Styblo medallion and a certificate of appreciation for their invaluable contributions to TB prevention, care and advocacy.
Any person or group from any country in the world that have made a long-term and significant contribution to the elimination of tuberculosis is eligible for nomination, excluding former and current KNCV employees. Institutions or organizations as a whole are also not eligible.
All nominations must be received by close of business Friday, 6 July 2018. Please send names of nominees together with a short motivation (max. 250 words) to Paul Huisman (paul.huisman@kncvtbc.org) who will collect the nominations on behalf of the Selection Committee.
This year’s winner will be presented at the 49th Union World Conference on Lung Health in The Hague, the Netherlands in October 24-27 2018.
Past recipients include: National TB and Leprosy Program (NTLP) Tanzania (2003); National Leprosy and Tuberculosis Program of Kenya (2008); and USAID (2013).
