KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (KNCV) today announced the launch of the People-Centered Framework (PCF) Knowledge Hub, an online resource for policymakers in high-burden tuberculosis (TB) countries to streamline their TB strategy and programs so that they can adequately tackle the epidemic.
According to the World Health Organization, 86% of new TB cases occurred in the 30 high TB burden countries. It’s essential that these countries are empowered to plan using evidence which identifies gaps and helps prioritize, cost and adopt new tools; the PCF Knowledge Hub helps them to do precisely this,” says Mustapha Gidado, Executive Director of KNCV. “We are very thankful that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation supported us in creating this essential resource which will ultimately lead to millions of lives saved.”
The PCF Knowledge hub includes several resources to help countries optimize resource mobilization. Among these resources are:
- A PCF online manual/ handbook (with step-by-step implementation guides for critical components)
- A PCF toolkit repository that includes a dashboard that countries can use to visualise their data and therefore be able to make decisions easier.
- A capacity building/ eLearning platform with recorded introductory webinars on key PCF topics, recorded conference and experience sharing presentations, and interactive online course (under development. Release date: November 2022 )
- A user forum/ community of practice exchange hub (under development. Release date: July 2023).
The PCF Knowledge Hub and all relevant materials are available immediately at https://pcf4tb.org.
