Upon completing her two terms, Wieneke Meijer has stepped down as a Member BoT during the General Assembly of KNCV that was held last week.
Mirella Visser, Chair of the Board of Trustees, expresses thanks to Wieneke for eight years of dedicated service and commitment to KNCV. “Wieneke played a very important role in the BoT by bringing in her experience of clinical day to day practice as TB doctor in the municipal health services and chair of the CPT Committee for practical TB Prevention and Care,” says Visser. “And Wieneke was of course also a very nice colleague to work with and we will miss her!”
Mustapha Gidado, executive director KNCV deeply appreciates Wieneke’s strong personal commitment and support to KNCV in her role as BoT member, and to linking the national and international roles of KNCV. “Wieneke ensured that attention for KNCV’s national role stayed in focus at the BoT.”
Niesje Jansen, Team Lead KNCV Netherlands, who has worked closely with Wieneke adds: “I have known Wieneke for a long time as an enthusiastic and highly capable TB doctor and as a pleasant ‘colleague’ in TB control. We have worked together on different topics, have given training about source and contact tracing to various groups for some time now, with great pleasure. Saying farewell to Wieneke as member of the KNCV BoT and soon as chair of the CPT, certainly is not a farewell for me. We will continue collaborating in the fight against TB in the Netherlands, both in education and in other ways.”
