KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation recently published the Annual Report 2023. With the learnings and achievements from 2023, KNCV looks forward into 2024 and aims to continue supporting countries in accelerating tuberculosis (TB) recovery efforts.
KNCV operates globally through various projects and partnerships, with a network of branch offices and affiliated national entities in multiple countries. Our mission around the world is supported by three sources of inspiration:
- Engagement with affected communities, putting people first
- Global movement for social justice and collaboration
- Role of technology and the digital environment
In 2023, KNCV implemented activities through 56 projects of different sizes in over 20 countries. During this period, we also participated in additional stigma reduction and vaccine preparedness projects in comparison to 2022.
KNCV-led or assisted projects significantly contributed to efforts that cut across multiple target areas on infectious diseases:
- 41% of projects contributed to Antimicrobial Resistance stewardship,
- 34% to TB in children and adolescents,
- 23% to dual TB/HIV infections,
- 14% to dual TB/Diabetes Mellitus infections, and
- 66% of projects engaged directly in capacity building.
Key takeaways from our work in 2023 include the importance of partnerships, evidence-based strategies, and a people-centered approach in our efforts to end TB. KNCV’s dedication to research, technical assistance and capacity building underscores our commitment to ending human suffering from TB and related health conditions.
The organization’s achievements in 2023 set a solid foundation for ongoing efforts to end TB and save lives worldwide. To learn more, here you can read the Annual Report 2023 document and access more resources in our YouTube Channel.
