Joint SEAR-WPR workshop to plan the accelerated implementation of new WHO TB policies

KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation in collaboration with WHO, Unitaid, the Global Fund and Viet Nam National TB Programme are organizing a capacity-building workshop in Hanoi, Vietnam from April 1st – 4th, 2025. The Joint SEAR-WPR workshop to plan the accelerated implementation of new WHO TB policies will bring together National TB Program and Reference/National Laboratory representatives, Focal Points for TB in children and adolescents, regional consultants, key stakeholders, technical partners, and donors.

Aim of the workshop

The aim of the workshop is to accelerate the adoption and uptake of WHO’s latest policies on TB diagnostics, TB screening and prevention, DR-TB treatment, and nutrition and prepare participants to implement the latest TB policies effectively, contributing to strengthened TB management, prevention, and care across the regions. It also aims to give participants an overview of the remaining needs and innovation opportunities in TB diagnostics. The TB diagnostic product pipeline is promising, with new tools to improve TB screening and case detection.

The workshop will also bring community partners on Community Demand Generation & Advocacy Capacity to strengthening Civil Society on Person-Centered Drug-Resistant TB Care

The workshop will take place on 01 – 04 April 2025 at 08:00 – 18:00 Vietnam time (03:00 – 14:00 CET).
