Andrii Slyzkyi is a Clinical Laboratory Scientist with 27 years experience in clinical haematology and biochemistry, laboratory diagnostics, diagnostic networks optimization, and TB/HIV/HCV laboratory services.
An expert in setting up, operating and optimising TB and HIV/AIDS laboratories, Andrii has previously managed and consulted on laboratory operations with MSF, the WHO Green Light Committee and the AIDS Foundation East-West. Andrii also has extensive project experience having advised on laboratory services and trained laboratory staff across Africa, Asia and Europe as part of the USAID funded Challenge TB and LON projects, LIFT TB, UNITAID funded COVID-19 Response, and TB and HIV/AIDS care and treatment projects.
Within KNCV, Andrii Technical provides technical support for laboratory operations, laboratory assessments and preparedness for drug resistance testing and non-bacteriological laboratory testing, and for the implementation of new diagnostics and approaches for TB and COVID-19, including multi-disease diagnostics platforms and patient- centred approach. Andrii chairs of the Diagnostics Task Force within the TB Elimination and Health Systems Innovation Division and also works on the development, validation and implementation of the new diagnostic and approaches for TB in children (including the KNCV SOS stool processing method).
