Emmy van der Grinten is KNCV’s Operations Director. A medical doctor, Emmy has 27 years experience working in healthcare and infectious disease control and elimination: Including TB, Leprosy, Buruli Ulcer and TB/HIV control programs.
Emmy is an expert in program management, surveillance (including GIS mapping), monitoring and evaluation, capacity building, and partnership building. Emmy has extensive project experience working as the Deputy Project Director of the USAID funded Challenge TB project (2019 – 2020), the Program Director of the Accelerating Integrated Management Initiative in Ghana (2016 – 2018), the Regional Director for Africa for the American Leprosy Missions (2013 – 2016), Regional Coordinator for the TB in the Mines project (2012 -2013), and KNCV’s Country Representative in Nigeria (2008 – 2012). A member of the leadership team of the Global Partnership for Zero leprosy with Taskforce for Global Health, Emmy is also a board member of the Leprosy Mission based in the Netherlands.
Within KNCV, Emmy’s role as Operations Director includes working with the technical consultants to efficiently plan and implement projects, supporting coordination between project teams, specialists and partner organisations, and providing technical assistance to KNCV projects and partners. Emmy is also responsible operations and security management and financial reporting at KNCV’s project sites.
