Kathy Fiekert

Senior TB Consultant

Kathy Fiekert holds a Master of Science in the Control of Infectious Diseases from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and has over 30 years of experience in public health, infectious disease control programmes and operational research in low- and lower middle income countries (mainly in complex emergency situations).

As a Senior TB Consultant, Kathy has significant experience advising national and local government bodies, NGOs and the donor sector. Kathy’s work links community engagement, people-centred approaches, ethics, and human rights to strengthening resilient and sustainable systems for health, joint strategic planning, and design innovative approaches to TB care utilising digital health technologies.

Kathy has published extensively and currently serves on several global policy advisory bodies, including the Global Fund Technical Review Panel, WHO Guideline Development Groups, and as a member of the TB Modelling and Analysis Consortium Steering Committee.

Within KNCV, Kathy leads the Health and Community Systems team, and coordinates the People-Centred Framework for TB Programming Approach, and Stigma Reduction & Social Protection Initiatives. Kathy also provides technical support to country and NGO TB programmes on situation and gap analyses, programme design and evaluation, strategic planning, resilient and sustainable systems for health, and management capacity development.
