Veriko Mirtskhulava is Medical Doctor with MPH and PhD in Epidemiology and Global Health with more than ten years’ experience in TB research, programmatic management, and capacity building. She worked as a manager of the Global Fund TB Grant on M/XDR-TB control at the Georgian NTP. She worked as a consultant for WHO, USAID, ESDC, focusing on TB control program reviews and translational and operational research in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Veriko has experience in the conduct and analysis of LTBI surveys, clinical impact assessment of new diagnostics, and surveillance data analysis.
Veriko joined KNCV in April 2017 as a Technical Officer Research and Data Management. She worked with the NTPs of Vietnam, Malawi, and Botswana to design and conduct TB prevalence and drug resistance surveys. Since May 2019, Veriko works as Senior Epidemiologist and supports countries in introducing new drugs and regimens and building countries’ translation research capacity.
