KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation processes personal data and uses cookies in accordance with the applicable privacy legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation has been committed to reducing tuberculosis since 1903, in the Netherlands and in the world. Every day we work towards our ultimate goal: eliminating the deadly disease tuberculosis (TB) from the world. KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation depends on your help to achieve its goals. You can do this by donating or by contributing to our goals in another way.

Responsible

KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is responsible for the personal data that we receive from you. As soon as we receive your personal data, we are the ‘processor’ of your data. This means that KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation is responsible for the careful handling of your personal data and must comply with the GDPR. This means, among other things, that we handle your personal data confidentially, that we have taken security measures to protect your personal data against loss, unauthorized access or theft, and that we will delete data if you request this or if it is no longer necessary for our work. When do we receive your personal data?

• If you contact us by post, email, telephone or via the contact form on our website, we will use your personal data to respond to your question or application and process it, or to respond to your complaint and handle it.
• If you make a donation to KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, your name, address and place of residence and IBAN (bank account number) will be processed. This data is required to register and process your donation. In some cases, we also ask for your email address to keep you informed about our work and new campaigns.
• If you make a text message donation to KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation, we will process your telephone number. We can use this telephone number once to inform you about the campaign and how you can contribute to it.
• If you subscribe to our email newsletter, we will process your email address so that we can send you the newsletter by email.
• If you request a brochure via our website or via email, we will process your email address or postal address so that we can send you the brochure.
• In addition, we can process data that you share with us online. For example, taking part in a quiz, signing a petition and data (such as your place of residence and your gender) that can be derived from social media.

For what purposes does KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation process your personal data?

What personal data does KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation collect?

How does KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation ensure confidential handling of personal data?

KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation handles personal data confidentially and takes appropriate technical and organizational measures to ensure that personal data is protected.

In some cases, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation uses third-party services to validate or supplement data if it is incomplete, for example after a move. Subscribing to and unsubscribing from the email newsletter
KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation offers an email newsletter to inform our donors, relations and other interested parties about tuberculosis, our work and related matters. Your email address will only be added to the list of subscribers with your explicit permission. Each newsletter contains a link or contact details with which you can unsubscribe. If you no longer wish to receive a newsletter, you can always let us know by sending an email to info@kncvtbc.org or calling 070 – 416 72 20.

Donors regularly receive mail from us to inform you about tuberculosis, our work and related matters. If you want to receive less or no mail, you can always let us know by sending a letter to

Retention period

Your personal data will not be stored for longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the data was collected. Some data is stored because it is required by law, financial and/or fiscal obligations. In that case, your data will be stored for a maximum of seven years after your last donation. After that, your personal data will be removed from our administration.

How can you view, correct or delete your data?

You can submit a request for access or correction to KNCV Tuberculosis Fund. Please clearly indicate that this is a request for access or correction based on the GDPR. You can also request that your data be deleted, but this is only possible to the extent that KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation can still meet its legal obligations, such as the statutory retention periods. When submitting a request for access or correction, please note that providing a copy of an ID may be necessary to verify your identity. It is important that, if you provide a copy of your ID, you black out the BSN, document identification number and the Machine-Readable Zone (MRZ) (or otherwise make it illegible to KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation).
