Egwuma Efo is a digital technology professional with over 15 years of experience creating and implementing technology systems and digital health solutions that strengthen health systems, and support the control, and eradication, of infectious diseases.
Egwuma holds a Master of Science in Information Technology and Applied Systems and has worked with Vital Wave Inc. and Clinton Health Access Initiative: Designing and implementing digital health solutions for reproductive and maternal health, immunisation and malaria control programs. Egwuma is an expert in the evaluation of information systems, tools, strategies, best practices, data management, and the design, assessment and deployment of digital health solutions. These digital health solutions are part of new people-centred models of care, driving improved engagement, accessibility, efficiency, and sustainability in health systems.
Within KNCV, Egwuma provides technical assistance to National TB Programs in the design and deployment of digital solutions. Egwuma works with health staff to build in-country capacity and provide ongoing support to ensure effective implementation of the digital health solutions. Egwuma leads the “data” workstream within KNCV’s people-centred framework: Providing a structure for organizing data and evidence for use in decision-making and planning in diverse National TB Programs. As part of her work on the people-centred framework, Egwuma develops simple and easy-to-use tools for data utilization to improve decision-making and inform program planning: This toolkit includes a DHIS2 dashboard, e-learning system, and online handbooks.
