Jens Levy is a Senior Epidemiologist with over 16 years of experience with international infectious disease research and another 8 years prior to that in Chronic Disease Epidemiology. Now at KNCV, since June 2016, Jens provides technical assistance to National TB programs and pursues his surveillance and research interests in data science, TB infection transmission and disease modelling and sub-national TB prevalence estimation.
Jens’ began his career in Epidemiology at the Massachusetts Department of Public Health before going on to earn his doctorate at the University of North Carolina. There he did his dissertation on the cardiovascular effects of particulate air pollution. Between 2004 and 2008 Jens worked on antiretroviral therapy (ART) scale-up in Zambia. Thereafter, he has worked on Influenza, Dengue and Chikungunya with the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and then the Armed Forces Research Institute of Medicine in Bangkok, Thailand.
