Rachel Powers is a Digital Health Consultant with 13 years experience leveraging various mobile, web-based, and robotics solutions to enhance health service delivery and health data collection and in low-resource settings, and the programmatic use of digital health tools.
Rachel holds a Master of Science degree in Information and Communication Technology for Development and is an expert in information and communication technologies, the design and deployment of digital health solutions, medication adherence technologies, case management platforms, diagnostic connectivity, and treatment data reporting. Rachel has extensive experience working on digital health technologies and health innovation projects, including leveraging paper-to-digital systems to improve collection of maternal health data, using unmanned aerial vehicles for medical commodity delivery, analysing logistical challenges in polio vaccine campaigns in Pakistan and developing a prototype mobile solution for the immunization program, and designing and constructing interactive tools synthesizing modern information technology with traditional craft materials to increase interdisciplinary learning in children.
Within KNCV, Rachel works on the enhancement, implementation, and integration of Digital Adherence Technologies to improve patient treatment outcomes, and supports National TB Programs with the assessment, customization, and implementation of digital health solutions, and improve health service delivery through enhanced patient support, access to data, and capacity building. Rachel leads technology design projects: understanding needs, identifying tech integrations, and incorporate country-specific requirements. Rachel also evaluates information systems, tools, strategies and best practices, works on the optimisation and standardisation of digital health implementation processes, and provides technical assistance on data collection, analysis, and utilisation, and vaccine and essential medicine supply chains.
